Sunday....................

Hi everyone!! Well today wasn't good for me. My bladder muscle's would not stop spazaming. My doctor gave me a mild muscle relaxer called flexerill (some thing like that). I also am taking AZO so now my toilets are all a pretty shade of orange. No, not really but if you do take this then you may want to check underneath the toilet seat because sometimes the water splashes and it then stains. I also have been taking talwin which my Pain Management Doctor put me on. It does help. I deal with depression and have for 21 years. I get down when I feel so bad for so long. I feel guilty for not being able to help with things around the house. I don't like my family having to bring me everything I need.

I would like it if someone would just post about how IC has changed their lives. We need to get the word out. I need ideas about how to get the message out in the world so that more people will understand us or realize that this could be what is wrong with them.

Thanks for reading. I need members and I need comments!!!

  1. Hi Sweet Kristi, I had my first IC symptoms in about 1989 but wasn't diagnosed. I had a UTI and then it seemed to keep on with the hot feeling down there so my PCP sent me to a Urologist. He said no more UTI and he ran some tests then did a cysto. He said I had an inflamed area in my bladder and he cauterized it. I know now that was the beginning of my IC and also that the doctor should not have cauterized my bladder. Ugh! Over the years I had health issues that I feel were related to IC but I was able to function well. About 5 years ago I started to have some IC symptoms which increased and in 2010 I had to have my beloved little poodle 'Bo' put down after having him from 5 months old to almost 17. That's when my symptoms got so bad I finally started to seek medical help to find out what was causing all my problems. I was diagnosed in November 2010 after seeing a PCP, GYN and then finally a urologist. He did a cysto with hyro and found I definitely had IC. I really knew I did after reading about it on WebMD. It has changed my entire way life and my husband's. Thank the Lord I retired at age 55 and we had 7 years before I got so sick. I was blessed I know to be older when the bad stuff started but it has still not been an easy road as you know. I have gotten closer to the Lord and have met some wonderful IC sisters on FB. That has been a real blessing. I tried not to have to go on pain meds but the end of March this year after getting Vulvodynia too, I was in so much pain that I had to get help. My pain doctor put me on a pain patch almost 2 weeks ago and it has helped me so much. I was already taking 2 Lortabs before I went to him so he increased them to 3 for breakthrough pain. I am so thankful to God was answering my prayers. I just pray this will continue to help me.

Kristi I am so sorry you have had it so bad for so long because I know they didn't even know about the IC diet and things they know now. I tried the Elmiron for over 1 and 1/2 years but it was not helping but started making me hurt more so I stopped taking it a month ago. I had the bladder cocktails at first and the first ones helped then they made my pain worse so I had to stop those.

I pray for a cure for all of us. I hope you get some help and that the Lord gives you some relief.

Sending you loving support, prayers and hugs.
